Neither Lt. Dekker no Sgt. Murdock like exercise, so when they are called to the scene of a murder and have to climb fifty-two steps just to get to the front porch of a house they are less than thrilled.  An elderly woman is found poisoned in her upstairs bedroom, but the front door is locked.  Two neighbors sitting on their front porches say that only two people went in or out of the house during the time she could have been murdered, and evidence shows that neither of them could have committed the murder unassisted or assisted by the other.  It is up to Lt. Dekker and Sgt. Murdock to sift through the evidence and talk to everyone who could have been involved and solve the murder.  The book is a combination of laugh-out-loud humor, interesting characters, and a tough to solve mystery.

    The best mysteries I have ever read have been funny. I don’t know why I prefer them, but I do. This one was funny, but also had me stumped. I loved it.

    Good read, takes a second to get into but definitely worth it. Casually humorous though can seem a little repetitive.

    Enjoyed some of the dialogue but storyline was not very believable and to convoluted to make a good mystery. Reader needs some ability to be the detective as the story develops.

    I thoroughly enjoyed this story. I had trouble putting it down to do necessary things like cooking or cleaning. I especially appreciated the cleanness and the Christian influence. The other thing I appreciated was that the two detectives were living their Christianity, not preaching it as the characters do in so many books.

    This was a humorous murder mystery. The two detectives added believability to the story. They were funny characters and helped the story line move long. I will definitely read more books by this author.
